Work restriction records

Organize work notes, light-duty restrictions, and missed-pay records after a car accident.

If an injury affects your schedule, job duties, transportation, or paycheck, paperwork can quickly scatter between providers, employers, insurers, and payroll records. Use this checklist to keep facts together without guessing about fault, wage loss, coverage, or claim value.

How to make work-impact records easier to review

  1. Separate doctor restrictions from employer records. Keep provider instructions, light-duty limits, no-work periods, and return-to-work dates in one folder, and employer/payroll records in another.
  2. Build a date-by-date timeline. Note crash date, first symptoms, treatment visits, work notes issued, missed shifts, modified-duty days, return-to-work dates, and major claim communications.
  3. Match missed work to supporting paperwork. Pair absence dates with work notes, appointment dates, pay stubs, time sheets, PTO usage, unpaid-leave notices, or employer confirmations when available.
  4. Track transportation and scheduling issues factually. Save rideshare, rental, towing, storage, repair, and appointment travel receipts if the crash affected getting to work or treatment.
  5. Avoid conclusions you cannot verify. Do not write that a note proves fault, injury severity, wage recovery, qualification, coverage, or claim value. Keep the timeline factual.
  6. Use the free-review form when ready. Share the details you know now: state, ZIP, accident timing, attorney status, fault details, injuries, treatment, work restrictions, missed-work dates, and a short description.
